Our Founders

In 1947, brothers James and Robert Paschal opened a 30-seat luncheonette at 831 West Hunter Street, serving sandwiches and sodas. As the business grew, they expanded the menu to include hot lunches. Without a stove at the restaurant or a car for transportation, the brothers prepared the hot meals at Robert's home and had them delivered to the restaurant by taxi.
